Mike Spiel

Mike grew up in Poughkeepsie, right dab in the middle of the Hudson Valley.  He graduated from Arlington High School and then went on to earn a BS degree in Meteorology from Saint Louis University.  A little known tidbit: his professors nominated Mike to Who’s Who Among American Colleges and Universities during his senior year.  Mike has made his home up in the Weather Tower since the early 1980's and in between watching for foul weather and spending quality time with his lovely family, he enjoys working with his hands.  He has made many updates in and outside of the Weather Tower, including, but not limited to, painting, putting up wood paneling, then taking it down, (hey, it was the 80's) changing the carpet a few times and patching the roof when necessary.  Luckily, being a Meteorologist, he knows when to get the buckets out to catch dripping water!

Mike is so accurate and in tune with the weather that he also provides forecasts for NFL Draft as well as a couple dozen music festivals across the country.   Still, Mike is a lifelong New York Mets, Jets, Knicks and Ranger fan.
